سید حسین میررضی

استیو بروس (Steve Bruce) استاد جامعه شناسی دانشگاه آبردین/اسکاتلند (University of Aberdeen) یکی از جامعه شناسان متخصص دین در عصر حاضر به شمار می رود. وی در سال 1945 در شهر ادینبورگ/اسکاتلند به دنیا آمد. بروس در در مدرسه ملکه ویکتوریا (Queen Victoria School) اسکاتلند تحصیل کرد و رشته جامعه شناسی و مطالعات دینی را در دانشگاه استرلینگ (University of Stirling) آغاز نمود و موفق به دریافت مدرک فوق لیسانس در سال 1976 و اخذ مدرک دکترا در سال 1980 از این دانشگاه گردید.

وی در سال های 1978 تا 1991 در دانشگاه کوئینز/بلفاست(University of Queens) در ایرلند شمالی به تدریس اشتغال داشت. این جامعه شناس متخصص دین از سال 1991 تا کنون صاحب کرسی تدریس در دانشگاه آبردین (University of Aberdeen) است. پروفسور بروس آثار متعددی را پیرامون سرشت دین در جهان مدرن و همچنین رابطه بین دین و سیاست به رشته تحریر در آورده است. آثار وی در حوزه دین: Bruce,S.
